Great Service

I felt it necessary to write a quick word about Great American Van Lines.

This company just completed my move last week to Tampa Bay and me and my family are extremely pleased we went with these guys. They walked us through the process and left nothing up to chance. They accounted for every scenario and the transition was extremely smooth. In fact my parents are planning to move to South Carolina next year and I will be definitely call Great American Van Lines to move them. The service was just great. I can't say enough about them. Great packing, no damages and it was a very fast turnaround. After what you hear about some companies, companies like Great American Van Lines should get as much exposure as possible. Glad we used them.

Great from start to finish

Thank you Great American Van Lines for all of your help in coordinating my recent move in NJ. The entire staff at Great American Van Lines was courteous, knowledgeable, and most importantly fair and honest about the cost of the move and time frame necessary for delivery right from the free estimate to the end. I have moved several times, and after this experience, I would not consider going to anyone else for moving services. Anyone considering hassle free moving should look no further than Great American Van Lines.



Great American Van Lines movers packed and moved my stuff when leaving the NJ area. They were punctual, friendly, and took great care in padding and boxing my valuables. I was very pleased and impressed with their efficiency and ability to make a typically stressful and draining task easy and quick. I highly recommend Great American Van Lines for anyone who is seeking high quality movers.

Unprofessional, dishonest

I booked this move with a person named Brian, who gave me a rough estimate and was very professional with the booking. Upon pick-up, their foreman told me he would have to increase the charges due to the amount of items- he went through in detail the source of all of the charges and was very transparent and honest. I had no problem with this and tipped him and his crew very generously. He told me it would take 7-10 days and that I would pay the remaining balance in cash or by credit card 3 days prior to delivery. Five days later I called to check the status and this is where the true nature of this company showed through...



I spoke to a person named David who told me 1. The delivery would be 2-3 days late (he never bothered to call me to tell me this) and that 2. he wouldn't accept a credit card at all as my order was too small and not worth it to him. The day prior to the NEW delivery date I called again to confirm only to be told by David he didn't know when it would be delivered, but that it would be another week at least. Again, never once did he call me to explain- I had to track him down. Long story short, the delivery took 20 days. The driver who brought my stuff called me to say he would be here within 6 hours or so. After 6 hours I called him (again nobody called me) and he said it would be later that night. LAter that night I called him and he said it would be the next morning b/c he was tired- but he told me he had to be here at 7:30 AM (on a Sunday) I asked him to move it to 9:00 AM as my building won't allow a move that early and he refused b/c he had other things to do. The next day he arrived at late at 8:45 AM with no apology or explanation and then had the audacity to try and ask for extra money and made up surcharges that were not in the original contract. I had at this point refused to pay cash and was told by management (DAVID) I could pay with a card on delivery and he would tell the driver. The driver was never told anything and argued with me in front of the building for payment in cash AFTER I had already charged it over the phone.



I would use them if you a. don't care when your belongings arrive and b. have nothing of value that is being moved. i.e. use these guys to move boxes of wood shavings. Otherwise DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They are DISHONEST, completely disorganized and unbelievably unprofessional.



I planned to speak to the owner of the business this week only to find out that is exactly the person who was feeding me lies and excuses all along...



I wouldn't take time out of my evening to write this if I didn't feel so strongly about it...believe me, you will regret booking with this company. I wouldn't wish this upon my worst enemy.

Good moving Resource

Handed over this relocation project after thorough research on this company. Spoke to the representative and found every information required. They were here at the scheduled hour and did what they should do. They delivery too was just at the right time and we did not miss out anything. Great American Van Lines is a good relocating resource.

the worst moving company in the world

They don't even deserve one star but that is the least i can check. The driver could not get the truck in the parking lot which it is a huge lot. They were complaining about the lenth they had to walk to the apartment. I had to call the cops to get them to unload my stuff. The people that picked up my stuff were great, they had to go to a third floor and didn't complain about anything. I don't know what was the problem with the people that bought the stuff besides that they were lazy. I would not recomend this company to my worst enemy. Even if u pay a little more, please go with someone else.

they did great job packing and loading my goods .and a verey good job packing ,alex the forman was verey nice guy and verey helpfull also thomas and john the crow was just excellent

Great Move with Great American

They gave us an in-house binding price, and the crew performed everything according to the salespersons specifications. The movers were careful and very professional. The move was eaay, on time, on budget and most importantly ON THE MONEY.



We talked to at least seven different movers and they started to change their prices in order to compete. This of course left us with a bad feeling. Nathan from Great American gave us the binding with the free in house survey and said that according to law, the price will not change, well he was right.

Stolen items, and terrible service

I should have written this review three months ago, but I kept hoping that this company would redeem itself by bringing my boxes to me and picking up the stuff they left that wasnt mine! I called them over 5 times, every time I would be told the issue would be resolved, but to no avail.



So I lost three boxes, and got three that werent mine (two have wall hangings, one has pillows, just in case they are yours...) . I lost my mirrow and other knick knacks, plus a box that had my South African Rooiboos tea, Kenyan tea, and other dry foods.



Perhaps worse of all was the fact that the movers left my sofa sectional outside in impending rain, and I had to get a different mover to bring the stuff into my second floor apartment!



I would never ever use these guys, I would never recommend them to anyone, and the overall cost ended up being more than twice the quoted rate, not including the storage costs. And the actual movers who brought the stuff over were rude and totally unprofessional. No wonder they insist on being paid in cash before they even move the stuff into the room, that way if they dont do a good job, you cant refuse to pay them or stop check!
