Horrible Experience

I greatly regret not having looked for reviews on this company prior to scheduling my move with them. I booked a week in advance and was told that they would be there no later than 1:30 pm on the day of my move with 4 men and a truck. I later called back to request an earlie move I was told they would most likely be able to be there earlier (I should have realized they were just saying this so that I wouldn't schedule with another company.) On the day of I called and was told that they didn't know who would've told me they could be there earlier and that it was impossible. Stressed because I had to reserve the elevator in my building and could only get a slot from 2 to 5 pm, I accepted that answer and said that it would be fine as long as they got to my apartment by the time I had scheduled, 1:30. Of course they said that would be fine. They did not arrive until 3:30 pm. I called numerous times and was threatened with them cancelling my move. Then I was told that they were going to charge me $90 for packing an armoire, eventhough they clearly told me that I could have one thing packed for free. Apparently they will only wrap a medium size piece of furniture, which they failed to mention. The dispatcher was extremely rude, in fact at one point he told me to call the people that scheduled the move before mine to complain to them. I am going to make it my life's mission (ok, maybe not my entire life but I will dedicate time to this) to truthfully review this so called company in as many places as possible in hopes that others will see this before they make the huge mistake of hiring these people. I would also suggest that anyone that has had the misfortune of dealing with this company contact the Better Business Bureau to file a complaint.

I would not recommend

I have never written a review online for anything before today. However, I felt compelled after my recent horrific experience. I would never recommend anyone to use this service. First off, I was told that the movers would arrive at my place between 8:00 and 8:30 am; however, they did not arrive until 10:00 am. This in turn, caused me to lose my reserved elevator time in my new building. Therefore, the job took much longer than it should have. The company stated that "it was not their fault that they had to wait for the elevators" even though it was their fault by showing up an hour and a half late for the job. Secondly, I was overcharged for packing materials (I was told it would be $12 for wardrobe boxes, but they charge $15 and then I was told it would be $15-$20 each to wrap a mirror and television IN BUBBLE WRAP, but they charged around $60 total to wrap them in CARDBOARD BOXES). At the end, the movers did not complete the job. They did not unwrap my television or mirror and they did not put my desk back together after they took it apart and they did not re-attach my mirror to my dresser. They demanded that I pay extra for going over the labor time that I had paid for and they stopped moving my stuff until I paid. Again, the only reason I went over the labor time was because they were so late. For reference, I had moved from NJ to NY with the exact same amount of items to move the previous year, and that job took a total of 5 hours including travel time. Go Movers took 4 hours to move a half mile down the road. Last but not least, I was told on the phone that I could pay by credit card; however, the movers insisted that I pay by cash, which caused me to have to find an ATM location to withdraw money. When I called the management office to complain, the gentleman on the phone was very rude to me and discredited everything that I had to say. About the only good thing from this move was that I know one company that I personally will never use again for future moves.

holding your goods hostage , low ball estimates ,missing(sto

I was a foreman at this company . Mark aka Max is the owner whose real name is Barry Fischel . He will not give you his real name , he will give you an estimate and then tell the foremen to milk the job so that the bill will be 2 to 3 times what the estimate was , and he tells the foremen to not unload until the customer pays the bill in full regardless of it being 3 times the estimate . This man is a heroin addict that has to shoot his dope every morning in the office before he hands out the paperwork , this is why he is robbing customers . For your own safety don't use this company , go to Dahill , World Class Relocations , or any of the other companies in Brooklyn , Allstar is also a good company . GoMovers is also listed as Reliable Spine Movers .

Good move, no problems!

I just move with gomovers from Brooklyn to Staten Island. I think gomovers did great job!

Show up in time and made a smooth move. I have no damages and no problems. I was charged 450.00 plus toll - exactly as promised.

I will recommend it to all my friends.

WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER HAD

I used Go Movers once before and despite the less than favorable experience, (the movers showed up with an extra man and charged me, despite quoting a significantly lower price for three men,) I decided to use them again because their rates were lower than other companies. Well, now I know why.

For my second move, Go Movers DID NOT SHOW UP. 30 minutes after they were scheduled to arrive I called to see what was going on. I was informed that our move had been canceled because they were not able to confirm the evening before. Firstly, I had already confirmed the move two days before. Secondly, they wrote down the wrong contact information, (despite the fact that they had called my cell two days earlier,) then blamed me for their mistake. Thirdly, they had two other viable methods of communication: my e-mail address and work number, but did not bother using either or those to confirm the move.

When I called to complain, the operator (Max) was beyond rude; he literally mocked me, saying, we did have the right number, ha! was completely nonchalant about the situation and lied about leaving messages on my work phone. You couldn't pay me to use Go Movers again...worst service experience I have ever had.

Late, Rude and More Expensive Than Quoted

We purchased furniture from a private owner in Queens and needed movers to bring it to our apartment in Manhattan. Our appointment was for 12:00 on Friday, February 6. The appointed time came and went and there was no sign of the movers. We called and were told they were running 45 minutes behind schedule. That was fine. Our new time of 12:45 came and went and around 1:00, we called about the delay. That time we were told that there were three trucks in the area and it would be another hour. For our inconvenience, they knocked $40 off the price, so we were then expecting to pay $280. the new time came and went and still no sign of them. Finally, at 3:00 three movers showed up. Keep in mind we had to work around the owner's schedule as well, so not only were we inconvenienced, he was inconvenienced. We spent half the day chasing them down. Once the movers arrived, they were very diligent, but slow. At the time of the appointment, we were told that they would wrap one delicate item for free. They wrapped the one piece and asked if we wanted two other items wrapped that were rather delicate, but could have gone on the truck. They did not mention that each box would cost $22! That was our mistake for not asking. We also had to coordinate the move with our super to ensure the elevator was protected. The movers arrived at our building just before 6:00. They gave us the bill before they would unload the truck. They told us it would be $576, which refused to pay. At this point, they had only worked 3 hours, yet they were charging for 5 hours. Then, there was the issue with the wrapping. I told them that we were told one delicate item would be wrapped for free, so they knocked two boxes off which lowered the price. I then called the office and spoke to someone named Max. I tried to explain to Max what we were told, which was a maximum of $320 for four hours, three men with travel and tolls included. He didn't want to hear any of it and started yelling. Do you expect the men to work for free? Do you think they're going to magically fly from one location to another? I know Jane didn't tell you $320!Maybe you had more than what you told her! I ended up hanging up on him. As I was walking to the bank, we received a call from someone else at the company who apologized for Max's behavior and lowered the price to $500. By the time I arrived back at my apartment with the money, the movers only had one more load to bring up. They were finished by 7:00, less than 4 hours after they arrived, yet we had to pay for 5 hours. We gave the workers $20 each. I have moved several times and I have never had any issues with the moving company. The last time, in fact, the movers worked a little over 4 hours, but they only charged the quoted amount. This company moved a desk top, desk, two nightstands, three lamps, a mirror, a painting, a bench and a sofa, broken in to four small sections. There is no way that this could have taken 4 hours plus travel time. They unloaded the items in about 15 minutes! The problem with this company is that they lure you in with a low quoted price and then charges all of these hidden fees. I will never use them again and recommend avoiding them at all costs!

Worst Experience Ever!

We are paying by the hour and the movers surely had no respect to our time at all. After we signed the start time, the movers disappeared for a whole 20 mins. For the three times I was checking them downstairs, the two movers were not doing anything. And then I was told they had to make two trips for my stuff coz the truck they brought was smaller than what they promised/advertised. I moved so many times before and never ever heard such a thing. I was quoted per breakable items, and they ended up charging me by the boxes they use to provide the protection, which became ridiculously expensive. So I had to call the office to dispute and we agreed on a price to finish the whole first and second move. They insisted that I pay the full amount upfront, or they would do nothing. We argued for a while and head mover promised they would finish the work. We gave in and paid. Two hours later, they claimed we had to pay extra for the time and the second move. We got into a strong argument and they just dumped our stuff into the lobby and fled the scene without letting us check the truck. Now I am missing one box and one piece of furniture. These people are cheaters, never use them!

Not Pleasant

If there are any nice reviews on here, you can tell they are fake. These guys are very rude AFTER they book the job. So just because they are nice before then, don't be fooled, it's only to get your sale. And they definitely try and raise the price on you even when I got an email with the complete price. They have hidden fees they don't tell you about because they say, it's not exactly the moving price, but the additional stuff required to move. They priced me for three men, but only gave me two.

Scam Artist

This is a company run by scammers, junkies, and theives. Not only did they break all of my glass articles, and steal from my belongings in their storage, they charged me 3 times the estimate just to go from their storage in Brooklyn to my apartment in Harlem. The job took 15 hours. The only employee they have that carries himself in a respectable manner is one of the foremen named Raheem, and his hands were tied because of the bosses. These people don't even use their real names, for example-Barry Fischel is known as Mark,Alex is Igor, and Jane uses numerous names.Alex is even doing reviews on his own company. This company is also known as RELIABLE SPINE MOVERS contact the NYSDOT before using this company.BEWARE !!!.
