Not to be trusted

Best Price Moving and Storage is terrible. Do not use this company. They will lose and break your stuff and you will not get any money back or even an apology.

I used them for my move from Chicago to Phoenix because the cost is about half what it would cost for me to rent a truck and move everything on my own.

So Brian Slater came to my apartment, gave me an estimate, set up a move date, ect. He was very nice and helpful and even showed me how reputable the company was by showing me their track record online. Unfortunately I didn't bother to read all these bad Yelp reviews or else I would have known better.

I was expecting my things to arrive at my new home within a few days but it took about a week and a half during which time I tried to contact them via phone and email and all I got was disconnected numbers, and the email address they have up on their website is not in use.

My things finally arrive and the movers wont unload the truck until they get paid. They wont even let you see inside the truck until they get paid.

I had only one box full of personal, breakable items on which I had written BREAKABLE in giant letters and sure enough there is a big dent in the box itself where it had been dropped and my irreplaceable items were shattered. Not only that but I never got my microwave, my blender, and most important a box of car parts from a 55 Chevy. I don't know if they were lost or stolen or what but 55 year old car parts are not easily replaced.

This is the worst experience I've had with any company ever. I hope they go out of business so this doesn't happen to anyone else.

Never Use Best Price & Storage

Warning to all who are thinking about using Best Price Storage for you movings needs don't if you value you things and time. The day of my scheduled pick-up was suppose to be in the morning from 8am-4pm. The movers showed up at about 5pm. Contacted dispatch about the time and there explanation was we did not have anyone available for the morning. This was suppose to have been scheduled a month and a half ago. My second issue with this company was they picked up my furniture on the Oct 28 and they did not schedule a truck for delivery until my first delivery date which was Nov 2. So the 4 days in between was wasted and never counted. So I contacted BPS dispatch (Claudia) and asked why my stuff was still sitting in Chicago and not scheduled for delivery, she informed my the delivery does not get scheduled until the first available delivery date. I was not happy with the process so I explained how that was BS and there process sucks! My third issue with this company is with the delivery of my furniture. My mattress and box springs were damaged and they looked like they had been dragged on the ground. My mattress was soaking wet on one side and discolored. My couch and bed frame have tape marks on them. I had a quick shade tent that is missing. The movers didn't set-up my beds properly, so I had to redo the work they were suppose to do. My last issue with this company is the customer service. You ask to talk to a manager or a specific person and the transfer your call to everyone except the person you are trying to get a hold of. Sent my sales rep (Casey)several emails and left several voicemails to find out what was going on and I got nothing. The dispatcher (Claudia) is very rude and doesn't have a clue about what she is doing. You ask her for estimated time of arrival or what is the driver location she can't give you any clear answer. You would be better off renting your own truck and moving your own stuff.

Beware - Stolen Property, Damaged Goods, Charged Double

PLEASE BEWARE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

I moved from Columbus, OH to Portland, OR. At the time I was unemployed and didn't have much money. I decided to use this company because they were the cheapest - that was my first mistake. The sales rep was very friendly and they gave me a great quote. They arrived 2 days after they said they would to pick up my belongings. The two guys that loaded my stuff had brought their dog with them - and let the dog run throughout my house. When I asked them to keep it outside they got an attitude. They showed up at my house at 8 o'clock at night (even though they called multiple times to confirm they would be there the day before at 9:00am), worked for 2 hours and then said they would be back in the morning. Before they left, the driver asked me where the nearest adult video store was located. They ate food and drank beverages from my refrigerator - I would have offered it to them if they asked. The next day, after they loaded the truck they told me that because there were more items then they thought (they said that the truck weight was more than what was quoted) that I would have to pay $2,600 more! That was more than double my contract rate! THEN! They said they wouldn't unpack or give me my belongings until I paid them in cash or cashier's check. When I made a big deal about it they said they would reweigh the truck when it arrived in Portland and I could make arrangements to be there when it is weighed to confirm. I figured at this point that I might as well have them deliver the items (mistake number 2). They arrived 3 days late - even though they called me multiple times to confirm the day and time of the delivery. As I had just started a new job (hence the purpose of moving across the country) I didn't have the luxury of taking time off - so I had to coordinate the delivery to take place outside of my normal work schedule. Needless to say, I ended up losing an entire day of work and making a bad impression with my new boss as a result. When they arrived the new delivery men refused to reweigh the truck. I finally gave in, just because I wanted the ordeal over with and had gone without a bed and belongings for a month! When they unloaded the truck they did not put anything away - they threw everything into the living room and refused to disseminate it throughout the house - even though the contract required them to. After inspecting the delivered items, I found that MANY items were broken, damaged (thousands of dollars worth of damage) and STOLEN! My leather couch from Pottery Barn - ruined (they put packing tape directly on the leather - all over it - it was almost like they did it on purpose). I insisted that the forms be marked to indicate what was damaged and missing and they refused to let me. They said I would get additional documents mailed to me to file a claim. When I eventually did submit my claim with all of the pictures (to include items that were photographed at time of packing but were never delivered) I was told they were only going to reimburse me for $135 - UNBELIEVABLE. I had over $5,000 in broken items, missing and damaged goods. It's been 6 months and I'm still waiting for my $135.....

I wish someone would sue this scam company and put them out of business

Would NEVER use or recommend Best Price Moving

I booked with Best Pricing Moving for a September 15th, 2009 pickup, but because I was told that it takes 4-7 business days, I moved it up to September 10th, 2009. I called my salesman, Brian and he said that I could tell the movers that I needed immediate/first delivery so that I could plan for my time off work, etc;

The movers came on the 10th at the scheduled time and told me that because my furniture was heavy, they would need to charge me extra. Then, they also charged me extra for the packing materials.

I asked the movers when they could deliver as I said that the first available would be September 16th and they advised me to call the next day, Friday, September 11th for the ETA of my delivery.

I called September 11th and they said they had no idea when the truck would leave but that they would call me by Monday, September 14th. I called on Saturday and again on Monday and they couldnt yet tell me an ETA of the delivery. I urged them to arrive on September 16th or at least let me know so I can make appropriate plans. I still received no information other than the truck left the evening of September 15th. I was given the phone numbers of the movers and they said they would let me know on Thursday, September 17th when they would arrive. They didnt call on Thursday, so I called again, Friday September 18th and he said that he wouldnt make it until Monday or Tuesday (Sept 21-22). At this point, I was pleading to try and have him arrive on Saturday, September 19th as I didnt have any other days to take off from work and starting a new job in NYC. He told me that it was absolutely out of the question and I tried talking to management and dispatch to reroute the truck, but no one could help.

The mover called that Monday wasnt possible and that he would come on Tuesday, September 22nd. This is now 8 business days from the original pickup, which is over the limit I was promised when I booked. The mover then called me on Tuesday saying that his Tuesday delivery wasnt ready for him and that he would have to come on Wednesday. I had to take more time off from work, schedule a friend to wait for the movers and now we are at 9 business days.

In addition, the mover calls me the night before asking if there are 8 wheelers allowed in my new residence, and when I advised there wasnt, he said he had to charge me an additional $282 to rent a truck.

With regards to scheduling, it was if my move wasnt on the schedule at all. They placed my delivery last on the list and 9 business days from the original pickup date is unacceptable. For the truck rental, this should have been disclosed or planned for in the beginning & I shouldnt have been told the night before that I had to pay an additional $282, 110 for packing, 250 for weight, 60 for fuel, another 13.66 for fuel adjustment amounting to 1819.66. I was also told that I needed to pay in cash or certified postal money order. The original quote was for $1260 and increased to 1819.66. I understand theres a fee for the shuttle, but the difference between the original and final bill (minus the shuttle) is $277.66 which Im requesting for a refund due to the extreme hassle I suffered as well as being told the wrong information.

The whole process was unprofessional, unplanned and I was grossly overcharged. Ive submitted a formal complaint with the better business bureau, but am also inquiring for a partial refund as my move was handled way beyond poorly

Very bad experience. Not recommended at all.

We used Best Price Moving and Storage Inc. to move our furniture and belongs from midwest to west coast and had a very bad experience.

We placed order on Jun 18, 2009. We were told the shipping will be completed within 10-12 business days after pick-up.

On Monday July 13, the movers showed up and packed and loaded our belongs onto shipping truck. We were told again at this time that the shipping and delivery will be completed within 10-12 business days.

On Thursday July 23, we called the moving company to check delivery status. We were told our stuffs were still at Chicago, the company's location. All paper works were not done yet. And there is no estimated shipping and delivery date. We wanted to talk to the manager to ask whether they can deliver as promised because 8 business days had passed since pick-up, but we were hung up twice by the customer service staff.

On Friday July 24, finally, we could talk to the manager directly. On the same day, we were told the driver were out, and we should expect the delivery on next Wednesday or Thursday (13 or 14 business days away from the pick-up).

However, the delivery did not happen on Wednesday or Thursday, the company just told us they would contact the driver and let us know the exact delivery date.

Finally, on Friday July 31, the driver showed up and unloaded our furniture. It turns out several small furniture are missing. More important, the delivery is over 3 week away from the pick-up, much longer than what the moving company has promised on placing order.

Even they brought us so much trouble on this moving, they did not bother to give us any apology at all.

Angry

I am so extremely angry with this company.

Moved from Chicago to NY. They do very bad business.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

When I have time to write more, I will. In the mean time, feel free to contact me for more info. I have lots to say. Including:

- THEY LOST 2 BOXES. ONE IS COMPLETELY UN-REPLACEABLE. ITS FULL OF PHOTOS FROM CHILDHOOD AND MANY PERSONAL MEMORIES,

- THE OTHER CONTAINS ALL THE CABLES FOR THE TVs, A PLAYSTATION AND MORE ELECTRONICS.

- WE ENDED UP PAYING DOUBLE WHAT WE WERE QUOTED

- WE WERE NOT TOLD ABOUT THE $500 CHARGE TO DELIVER OUR THINGS, IN ADDITION TO WHAT WE HAD ALREADY PAID.

- WHEN I CALLED TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT. THE PERSON THAT ANSWERED THE PHONE HAD CLEARLY ANSWERED THIS QUESTION A HUNDRED TIMES, BECAUSE i WAS GIVEN A VERY REHEARSED ANSWER, MA'AM, YOU SIGNED THE CONTRACT, DIDN'T YOU. I NEVER SIGNED ANYTHING THAT SAID I HAD TO PAY AN EXTRA $500. THAT WAS FILLED IN LATER, AFTER I SIGNED IT!

- HAD I KNOWN THAT I WOULD HAVE TO PAY AN ADDITIONAL $500. i WOULD NOT HAVE GONE WITH THIS COMPANY. AS AN HONEST BUSINESS OWNER MYSELF, i CAN'T HELP BUT FEEL BAIT SWITCHED AND LIED TO. HOW CAN ANYONE FEEL RIGHT RUNNING A BUSINESS LIKE THAT. I HAVE NEVER MISREPRESENTED THE COST OF ANY OF MY SERVICES OR BEEN SO DISHONEST ABOUT THE PRICE OF MY INVENTORY/SERVICES. IF THERE IS GOING TO BE ANY ADDITIONAL CHARGES, I TELL THEM OR AT THE VERY LEAST ESTIMATE ---- I DON'T STAY SILENT.

- MY DEPOSIT WAS TAKEN, BUT, AFTER THAT, BRIAN IN THE SALES DEPARTMENT NEVER ANSWERED MY PHONE CALLS OR E-MAILS. i ASKED HIM QUESTIONS ABOUT THE MOVE ETC... AND NEVER HEARD BACK FROM HIM,... TO THIS DAY. I HAD TO CALL SEVERAL TIMES TO SET-UP AND CONFIRM MY DATE/TIME.

- OUR FURNITURE WAS NOT HANDLED PROPERLY.

- IN THEIR SALES PITCH, THEY CLAIM NOT TO BE A BROKER. BUT IT SURE FEELS LIKE THEY ARE A BROKER WHEN WE WERE TOLD BY A SUBCONTRACTOR/FREELANCE MOVER THAT WE HAD TO PAY $500 TO DELIVER OUR THINGS.

- THE SUBCONTRACTOR ONLY HAD ONE HELPER,.... TO MOVE 3 BEDROOM HOME. WE HELPED OUT A LOT, AND IT STILL TOOK OVER 6 HOURS.

- WE WERE TOLD THAT WE WOULD BE GIVEN 24 HOURS ADVANCE NOTICE. WE WERE GIVEN ABOUT 10, AND TOLD THAT WE NEEDED THE EXTRA MONEY BY THEN TOO.

I could keep going, but I don't have all day.

Scam!!!!!

I wish I had read these negative reviews sooner. This move has been an absolute nightmare, and it continues to this day. Brian Slater, the sales person I spoke with was very pleasant. I didn't know he was also a liar. He said that everything would be included in my quote (less the weight of my stuff if it was heavier than what I thought). Turns out if you sneeze the wrong way, they charge extra. This costing me hundreds (and counting) more than what they originally said...but that's the least of my complaints. After 11 business days, I finally received a call from the movers saying they were going to be delivering my stuff (it was supposed to be delivered in 5-7 business days). No call, no show. I had re-arranged my day just so I would be available for the delivery. SO UPSET. I spoke to about 7 people who all did not take any responsibility. Furthermore, they wanted to charge me an additional $230 for a shuttle fee because their 18 wheeler semi couldnt fit around the corner. All in all, my original quote was $1200. By the end of it, I'm paying $1700, and God knows what else they will choose to charge me for next since my stuff is STILL not here. Today makes the 17th day. Please, do not put yourself through this nightmare if you can help it. Their staff are liars, theives, and they DO NOT CARE about their customers.

Spend the extra money !

We made the move from Michigan to Las Vegas. My husband went with this company because of the pricing. The sales person assured him that our quote of nineteen hundred would not change and that we would receive our belongings in five days. We paid $336.00 deposit and would pay the rest at time of delivery. After a week we did not receive our things or a final price. After two weeks we were told that we had to pay an additional nineteen hundred and that our items were not leaving the warehouse until day 17! We had no appliances so we did not understand the extra cost. We eventually received our things 22 days after pick up! We spent so much extra money because we did not have a bed, television, or our son did not have school supplies. We were expecting our items within five days which was told to us by the sales person. The customer service reps were rude and unsympathetic. The driver called and told us that he would give us a 2 hour notice of when he would deliver our things. He actually only gave us a fifteen minute notice. The driver had the nerve to ask that I tip his crew even before unloading our things. After receiving my items, I began opening boxes. I notice that my plasma TV was missing and immediate called the driver who was leaving the apartment complex. He acted as though he did not know that we had a plasma and said that he would check the truck. One of the workers eventually walked the television back to my home. After unpacking I noticed that my computer monitor was broken and so was my son's bike. Please just pay the extra cost for a better and honest moving company. You will end up spending the extra money anyway. Also please check for all of your items before signing anything no matter how impatient the drivers are being.

People, please don't use best price moving and storage, they going to steal from you, if you don't get the weight that you are estimated, they going to put guys or a crate into the truck to make that weight, this order is coming from Amir Bannai (best price manager and illegally inmigrant), or Eric, the guy that is in charge of closing the contracts, i work there, and the guys at the warehouse, (javier duarte manager) they open your boxes, check the boxes most of the time is different tape and went you call and ask (karen-customer service manager) is telling you that it was becuase the box open and they have to put tape to closed, that's a lie, go there and the warehouse is a complete desorder, they even speake english you call the dispatch office and they barely speak english, so you never can know what really is going on with your stuff, if you want more information, email me i have no problem to go to court if necessary, i know how they mark the closed contract went they change the weight, email me.
