I contacted Elite Moving and Storage to move from Las Vegas to California-got a quote from Suzie that was acceptable. She tells me how wonderful they company is and how much we will love the service. We get a phone call a day early asking if they can come start the packing. Michael, the foreman shows up and tells us, after inspecting the house, that it will actually be $5900 for the move, not the $3500 we were originally quoted.
He then makes a phone call, supposedly to his dispatcher, who drops the price to $5500. We say no, we have a quote for $3500 from Suzie. I call her, and of course she isn't in the office. We tell Michael he cannot start to pack until we resolve this. He leaves. I have phoned Suzie 5 times, never gotten a return call, cannot get anyone to answer the phone and have not gotten our deposit back.
This is the WORST excuse for a moving company-I would encourage anyone who is looking for a moving comanpy to use anyone but Elite Moving & Storage. They will rip you off, lie to you, and steal from you.

Elite Moving and Storage is Run by Con Artists
I had a small move which Suzie, the owner's wife, guaranteed wouldn't exceed $1600 as long as the weight was under 3000 lbs. The weight ended being under 2200 lbs, and approximately enough furniture and boxes to fill - at most - a studio apartment. When the Elite movers arrived the foreman said that they wouldn't move my things for less than $2600, which was $1000 more the max of $1600 I had been quoted. To justify this inflated price, Damien said my belongings would take up 600 cubic feet, which exceeded the 429 cf in the Order for Service. Therefore, they wouldn't ship my things for less than $2600. I was lucky - I didn't have to move out of my home on that day. I was able to find a reputable, HONEST mover the next day. The rep came to my home and gave me a binding contract, FOR UNDER $2000. When I told the rep about Elite's estimate of 600 cubic feet, he laughed and said that my shipment wouldn't take even half of that space. The movers came several days later and I'm happy to say that all of my things were picked up on time and delivered on time - in perfect shape. The rep also gave me some good advice. He said NEVER go with a moving company that uses cubic feet - or lists it in any way on the service order. In my case, I saw it on the Order for Service and asked Suzie about it. She assured me that it was just there for their own information and would have no impact on the price - that my shipment would be by WEIGHT ONLY. I now realize that Elite puts cubic feet in the Order for Service, in parens, so they can use it once at your home to justify jacking up the price, just in case you happen to know how much your shipment weighs - as I did - thereby preventing them from inflating the weight to jack up the price.
